Hello. Thank you for looking into volunteering with us. We really appreciate your interest because our volunteer team are vital to the museum.
By volunteering with us you’ll be supporting the museum in a very practical way. You’ll be joining a team of more than 80 volunteers, so it’s a great way to meet new people, and it’s a very rewarding experience.
You’ll also be able to use and share your skills, while developing new ones too – in a museum there’s always something new to learn! With so many different roles to choose from, there’s bound to be one to suit you. How much time you give is up to you. And don’t forget, volunteering is great for your CV!
We’ll support you every step of the way
No experience or special knowledge is needed as you’ll get full training and ongoing support – just bring your enthusiasm! There will also be plenty of tea to keep you going!
Here’s what you could be doing
There are lots of jobs you could do from meeting and greeting visitors on the front desk to working in the shop, maintenance or even IT or marketing. If you enjoy meeting people, you might like to consider becoming a gallery guide, giving talks to visitors or helping at events. There’s also the opportunity to be involved in researching and documenting the collections.
Sounds exciting? We’d love to hear from you!
